THE PATTERN THAT CONNECTS
This work is an artistic exploration of the epistemology of Gregory Bateson. The starting point of this discussion was the realization that any artistic expression is tied to the processing of my subjective experience and my individual interest in the world. Just as experience happened, changes it, often unconsciously, even the subjects that engaged my artistic vision. Out of complete indifference or even aversion it can suddenly turn into curiosity and wonder. Which is the connection between my artistic curiosity and the processing of my experiences? What influences my interest in research and in the objects my art is dealing with? What is the “pattern” behind my selection? The biologist and epistemologist Gregory Bateson draws attention on , that among other things, we must come out of our frames in order to identify new and other ideas. During this work with patterns I let interest and sudden accidents happen and connected ideas from a playing mind – which gave birth to new patterns.
